How to Add Characters to Capsuleer
For Devices running iPhone OS 3.0 or newer
Starting with Capsuleer 2.0.4 you can now use iPhone OS 3.0’s Copy and Paste feature to add your pilots. This is the simplest and best method for adding your pilots to Capsuleer.
- Adding pilots using Copy and Paste (Video)
- Adding pilots using Copy and Paste
For devices running iPhone OS 2.2.1 or older
You can still use the classic method of adding your pilots. Details on this method are below.
You can add pilots to Capsuleer by emailing your self a special link.
The link can be in either of the following formats:
evechar://localhost/?userid=232250&key=examplekey
or
http://capsuleer.evesuite.com/api/add/userid/232250/key/examplekey
The first link is what Capsuleer understands and uses to add Characters from.
The second link is provided as a helper. It uses the Capsuleer server to translate the more compatible http:// URL into the evechar:// URL that Capsuleer understands. This alternative type of URL was added because it will work better with a wider range of email clients. NO information is stored on the Capsuleer server, your api details are only used to produce the evechar:// link that Capsuleer understands.
In both URLs you need to replace the bolded entries with your API details. In the case of the above examples, 232250 is my API userid, and examplekey is my API key.
If you are familiar with retrieving your EVE Online API information you can skip the next step and proceed directly to sending your URL to Capsuleer.
